I am a learner, leader and an educator, but others call me a horse trainer. I started my masters degree in curriculum development and instruction in January 2018 with a goal of lecturing at the university level. This blog acts as a digital portfolio to document my learning.
Currently, I work full time as a horse specialist at a sizable (for Vermont) breeding and training facility. Most of my days are spent working directly with the horses doing basic care, training and breeding. Each day is an incredible opportunity for learning. As humans we often have egos that get in the way of our learning. When we drop that ego, it is truly incredible what the world has to teach us.
Outside of my job, I have my own little herd of three horses. Each of them is unique, and the depth of their roles in my life would be impossible to describe. I gave up my 30 horsemanship students for my current job, but still teach a few lessons in my free time. They are wonderfully gratifying.
